PRESIDING IN SENATE AND HOUSE
49.- 1. The President or, in his absence, the Vice-President or, if
they are both absent, a Senator (not being a Minister or a Parliamentary
Secretary) elected by the Senate for that sitting shall preside at any sitting
of the Senate:
Provided that the President or Vice-President, as the case may be, shall not
preside when a motion for his removal from office is before the Senate.
2. The Speaker, or in his absence, the Deputy Speaker, or if they are both
absent, a member of the House (not being a Minister or Parliamentary Secretary)
elected by the House for that sitting shall preside at any sitting of the
House:
Provided that the speaker or Deputy Speaker, as the case may be, shall not
preside when a motion for his removal from office is before the House.
